At Rokn, we value your trust when you share your personal data with us. This policy transparently explains how we collect, use, and protect your information while using the platform. This policy is a legally binding agreement and applies alongside our Terms and Conditions.
1. Scope and Minors Protection
- This policy applies to rokn.app, mobile applications, and all features provided through the platform.
- We do not intentionally collect personal data from minors under 18 without explicit written guardian consent and supervision. If such data is identified, it is deleted immediately.
2. Data We Collect
We collect information to provide a personalized and secure learning experience, including:
- Account and profile data: name, email, phone number, and registration details (direct signup or via platforms such as Google and Facebook).
- Payment information: we do not store credit card numbers internally; payments are processed by trusted partners compliant with global security standards (PCI-DSS). We retain only transaction logs and billing addresses.
- AI conversations: we retain chat text and interactions with AI systems to improve model accuracy and discover learning patterns. You are strongly advised not to share sensitive data (such as card numbers or passwords) with AI.
- Learning and achievement data: your course progress, assessment results, projects, badges, and earned ranks.
- Technical information: IP addresses, device/browser type, and automatically collected usage statistics for security and performance optimization.
3. How We Use and Share Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We use it only to:
- Personalize your learning experience, train AI models, and issue completion certificates.
- Protect the platform against fraud and unauthorized use (such as account sharing).
- Limited sharing: share only necessary data with trusted service providers (payment gateways, hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality obligations.
- Disclose information when required by official legal requests or to protect the rights and safety of Rokn and its users.
4. Cookies
We use cookies to maintain login sessions, remember your preferences (such as video progress), and protect your account. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect core platform features.
5. Data Security and Retention
- We protect your data through secure servers, SSL/TLS encryption, and regular backups. You remain responsible for protecting your password and not sharing it.
- We retain active account data while the account remains active. Financial transaction records are retained for at least 5 years for tax purposes, and AI chat records for up to 24 months (unless deletion is requested).
6. Your Data Rights
Under applicable data protection laws (including Egypt Law No. 151 of 2020, Saudi PDPL, and UAE data laws), you may:
- Access and correction: view and update your data through account settings.
- Deletion (right to be forgotten): request deletion of your account and personal data from our servers, except where retention is legally required.
- Objection and consent withdrawal: stop marketing communications or withdraw consent to data processing through platform settings or by contacting us.
7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This policy is governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, while considering data protection laws in the countries where we operate. Cairo Economic Courts have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes after exhausting amicable settlement routes.
